This campsite is teeming with wildlife. Access to three separate ponds is a short walk. Behind the campsite is a specially constructed bird blind for viewing (not hunting) the pond. The campsite is open with shade trees surrounding it.

This campsite, accessible from La Farge, accommodates larger vehicles and offers grazing for equines. A prairie enthusiast"s spot at the base of the dam, it"s available for large groups via Special Event Permit.

This site is a very secluded hike in site. The campsite in under large old shade trees and has wonderful views of Star Valley and several upland fields and prairies. Experience quiet, quiet, quiet here. Enjoy dark skies and wildlife near the campsite

Schroeder Camp, shaded by mature trees, is on the Willow Horse Trail with some equestrian traffic. Enjoy views of Star Valley and Schroeder’s Pond, with a nearby viewing dock. A short hike leads to primitive river access along Old 131 Trail.
F - Hanson Hollow

Campsite F Hanson Hollow is a remote, quiet backcountry spot with ample shade and great hammock trees. An old settlers’ spring box is nearby—filter or purify water for safety.
H - Pinery

Campsite H - Pinery Camp is located along County Road P west. This site is high and dry. Upland wildlife is common here. Access is easy off of County Road P. Perfect site for night sky viewing
I - Kaukl

Kaukl Camp, along County Road P west, offers ample parking and a raised area for tents. Please avoid tying to oak trees and park in designated areas. Campsite I is available via Special Permit for groups over 10—contact the Visitor Center for details.
J - Mule Camp

Mule Camp is a campsite with open space and shade trees. Mule Camp has easy access and a large area for larger rigs to maneuver.
K - Jug Creek Camp

Jug Creek Camp is a secluded site on KVR"s east side with good vehicle access but no nearby trails. Jug Creek, just steps away, offers excellent fishing opportunities for anglers.
KK - Nofsinger Camp

Nofsinger Camp, off Hwy 131, is nestled around a hill to reduce noise. Enjoy valley views, sunsets, and birdwatching with shade, and views of Rockton and Blackhawk Rock to the west.
L - Silbaugh Camp

Silbaugh Camp overlooks the river valley below Black Hawk Rock. Easy hiking access to this campsite using Old Hwy 131 Trail.
M - Risen Camp

Risen Camp, on river left downstream of Landing 12, near old Bridge 12 pilons, has primitive river access. Campers must follow signs to the upland site. No riverbank camping allowed. An evacuation route to HWY 131 is available for high water.
N - Danies Valley Camp

Daines Valley Camp is on a quiet dead-end gravel road. Access is good but may not suit a truck and trailer. The flowing well water is untested—filter or purify before use.
O - Ma & Pa’s Park Camp

Ma & Pa’s Park, in Weister Creek Valley, is easily accessible from County Road P and serves as a trailhead for two segments. Enjoy frog songs at night and dark skies. Flowing well water is untested—filter or purify before use.
OO - Steinmetz Camp

Steinmetz Camp, across County Road P from Wolf Valley Road, is near Weister Creek with easy access for larger vehicles. While there’s no trail access, it’s centrally located between Ma & Pa’s, West Ridge, and Weister Creek trails.
P - Potts Corners Camp

Potts Corners is truck and camper-friendly. Watch Sandhill cranes in nearby fields and enjoy Weister Creek, a class 1 trout stream, just a short walk away. Flowing well water is untested—filter or purify before use.
PP - Van Dyke Camp

Van Dyke Camp, with moderate access for trucks and trailers, is an open site with little shade. Surrounded by grassy fields, it offers great wildlife viewing. The two Maple trees are memorials—please don"t tie camping gear to them.
Q - Cutoff Camp

Cut Off Camp is easily accessible with a larger rig. There is limited shade at this site. This site is high and dry. Excellent hiking offers stunning views over Warner Creek and the Kickapoo River.
T - Clark Camp

Campsite T - Clark Camp is located across the road from Winchel Valley Road just off of State Hwy 131. Access is good off of a paved road.

Bridge 8 Camp, river right past Bridge 8, requires hikers to exit via primitive access and follow signs to the upland site. Riverbank camping is not allowed.

Markee Camp, downstream of Landing 10 on river right, requires campers to exit via primitive access and hike to the upland site. No riverbank camping is allowed. A marked evacuation route is provided for high water.
